Back to Life, Back to Reality

So long spring break. Thanks for visiting...you will be missed. Monday we headed back to school. After quite a lovely spring break. I started the week with a tremendously large list of things to do, and I am happy to report that they were all done :)
Now that's what I call a good little break. Though the weather was very chilly all week, so we didn't head to the beach once. Which usually happens at least once during spring break. We had one of the coldest month of March that I have seen in a long time. I don't think we ran our air conditioner once the whole month...which is rare for Florida. Anyway, it was a busy week of work. I worked on my certification for my doula work. That took a lot of time and patience...but that should be sent out this week. I also had two cars at the mechanic getting things done. That felt good. And all the kitchen cabinets were cleaned out and reorganized...fantastic. And to wrap up the week the carpet cleaners came by and cleaned the carpets :)
So, now we are back to school. Only 9 more weeks until we are done. It's been a great year and we have been very successful in all that we have got done. I am getting ready to buy next year's curriculum, which is always a scary thought. It's good to be prepared, but I hate to jump ahead because then it makes life go by too fast.
I hope your Easter was good. We had a fantastic day together. We love our time together.

     This post has been churning in me for months and knew that I wanted to write it and post it one day. I have been very open and honest about where I have been at the last few years, so some of what I write today may not be a surprise to anyone. 2020...What does that look like to you? I am ready to BLOOM!

As I sit here at my desk, we have already gone through the first few days of 2020. I keep shaking my head when I think that we are already 20 years into this century. Doesn't it feel like moments ago we were talking about Y2K? So much has happened since then. Matthew and I were talking just this morning that I will turn 45 this year, and how half of my 40s will be over and how fast they have gone. And how difficult they have been. But I have hope. I never lose hope. I got that from my mom. I am expecting a great year. Not because I think I won't have trials this year, it's because I am stronger than ever before. So, a few days ago I was listening to something. I can't even remember what it was. But I heard the word BLOOM. And I instantly knew God was saying that this is my word for the year. Warning: Do you think your child may be Dyslexic?

Three years ago today our world changed so much here at the Reynolds Nation. On that day we found out officially by the psychologist that Judah was dyslexic. I had been concerned for about 9 months that he was...I had heard on Good Morning one day what are some of the signs of dyslexia. Though I always watched my kids for dyslexia, Judah just didn't have the classic signs... like the turning of the letters B, D and P.  Everyone always looks for that, but Judah didn't do that. But he was behind in his reading. And wasn't progressing in a rate that was okay. So, we had him tested. And it was confirmed.
