Two Bunnies, One Goat and a Wedding Anniversary

We took this tonight..still in love after 13 years!

Esther and Daddy with her new bunny.

The newest member on our little farm!

What a crazy day it has been. We were up early this morning and out the door by 8:30 to head to the Osteen Farm Swap...it was 30 minutes away and it started at 8:00, so we didn't want to be too late, but at the same time I wanted to sleep past six! We headed over there...and brought home two male bunnies. We lost George, our bunny, last year and we wanted to replace him...but instead we got two...I guess with five kids, it is hard to share one bunny. So we got Butterscotch and Brownie (in photo with Esther and Daddy). Then we were able to pick out a new goat to replace Laverne (who died about 6 weeks ago). Poor Shirley has been lonely without her and we have been on the hunt. And after meeting our neighbors behind our house, we really like the the Boer goats...so we picked her out...not named yet (it is currently under deep discussion)...and there is a chance that she is pregnant. But only time will tell. If she is, then we are going to make an area for the little ones...and now, we can possibly breed with our neighbor who has the Boer goats. On the way home we stopped by the produce stand and picked up some farm fresh fruits and veggies...and then stopped at the feed store...and then home. While we were home Bryn and I raked up old hay in the pasture, the kids ran around and Matt took the full wheel barrows to the burn pile for us..and captured Shirley once who is such an escape artist. The farmer we bought the new goat from brought her home by 12:30...and she loved it! She ran around free...and she and Shirley stared at each other for a bit and then went back to eating grass. I am sure they will become fast friends.
After the animals were all snug in their new homes, we headed to Walmart. We wanted to buy the paint for the outside of the house. Now, let me tell you how exciting it is to keep five kids entertained while you pick out and purchase 9 gallons of paint. By the time we were done with Walmart, we felt whipped. Then when we got home our friends Chris and Jen came over and their kids ran around with our kids...and they checked out our new addition. By the time they left, our kids were so filthy ( and totally happy)...so we dumped them in the bath and fed them a quick dinner...which would enable us to celebrate our 13th Wedding Anniversary! WooHoo!!!
We have hit the point where every day is real life...no matter what day it is. Just joking...we did go away a few weeks ago by ourselves. We left the kids in their jammies so we could go out to eat by ourselves. We have eaten a lot of sushi lately, so we headed to our old time favorite, Carrabas! We had a great time...we didn't talk about the construction around our house...and not much about the kids. We laughed about the past...talked about regrets...remembered funny stories...where we lived ...all the good stuff! And we talked about what we want to do this next year. We had a great time...but we were home before nine o'clock...the days of late nights are gone! We were greeted at the door by a very excited Esther (who was supposed to be sleeping) who waited up to tell us she lost another tooth...what a great way to end the day.
What a great life I have with this man. He is my covenant partner. I love him and he brings more joy to my life than I could ever imagine. He is my treasure and he treasures me. Now that is a good life!
