Sensational Saturday

I thought I would stop for a moment and talk about what a beautiful Saturday it is here in Central Florida. The humidity is low, the temp is only 79 degrees and the sun is shining. My windows are wide open and the wind is just coming through the house so nicely. Matt is working outside to fix a line that was cut during the construction this week and the kids are in competition on who can get the dirtiest! They have been outside for most of the day...Judah has walked 10 miles, Bryn is helping her dad, Caleb is in and out and William and Esther are now making tents in the bedroom. And what am I doing? Taking it easy...I love days like this...no obligations and total relaxation. So sweet and sensational! Hope your Saturday is as wonderful as mine...enjoy your family, love on your kids and take a break!

     This post has been churning in me for months and knew that I wanted to write it and post it one day. I have been very open and honest about where I have been at the last few years, so some of what I write today may not be a surprise to anyone. 2020...What does that look like to you? I am ready to BLOOM!

As I sit here at my desk, we have already gone through the first few days of 2020. I keep shaking my head when I think that we are already 20 years into this century. Doesn't it feel like moments ago we were talking about Y2K? So much has happened since then. Matthew and I were talking just this morning that I will turn 45 this year, and how half of my 40s will be over and how fast they have gone. And how difficult they have been. But I have hope. I never lose hope. I got that from my mom. I am expecting a great year. Not because I think I won't have trials this year, it's because I am stronger than ever before. So, a few days ago I was listening to something. I can't even remember what it was. But I heard the word BLOOM. And I instantly knew God was saying that this is my word for the year. Warning: Do you think your child may be Dyslexic?

Three years ago today our world changed so much here at the Reynolds Nation. On that day we found out officially by the psychologist that Judah was dyslexic. I had been concerned for about 9 months that he was...I had heard on Good Morning one day what are some of the signs of dyslexia. Though I always watched my kids for dyslexia, Judah just didn't have the classic signs... like the turning of the letters B, D and P.  Everyone always looks for that, but Judah didn't do that. But he was behind in his reading. And wasn't progressing in a rate that was okay. So, we had him tested. And it was confirmed. And on that day I started an intense search to find what help we could find for Judah. Several people pointed us to the Barton Reading and Spelling program...and that's the avenue we took.
