Harvest Time!


Sometimes I read about people who live in farming communities up north and families taking advantage of the cheap prices....and it makes me so jealous. Living in Florida, we don't have the same advantages until... you remember about our fruit crops. My friend called me the other day and said a neighbor wanted her trees plucked of all the fruit before the freeze we are expecting this week....and we could keep whatever we picked. Harvest time! We met over at her house and walked over to the neighbors...and for the next two hours we picked two wagon loads full! So awesome! We divided the harvest up and I brought home about five bags full of fruit. My kids (who are fruit lovers) practically toppled me at the door. I will be cutting a lot of oranges in the next few weeks.

     This post has been churning in me for months and knew that I wanted to write it and post it one day. 2020...What does that look like to you? I am ready to BLOOM!

As I sit here at my desk, we have already gone through the first few days of 2020. I keep shaking my head when I think that we are already 20 years into this century. Doesn't it feel like moments ago we were talking about Y2K? So much has happened since then. Matthew and I were talking just this morning that I will turn 45 this year, and how half of my 40s will be over and how fast they have gone. And how difficult they have been. But I have hope. I never lose hope. I got that from my mom. I am expecting a great year. Not because I think I won't have trials this year, it's because I am stronger than ever before. So, a few days ago I was listening to something. I can't even remember what it was. But I heard the word BLOOM. And I instantly knew God was saying that this is my word for the year. Warning: Do you think your child may be Dyslexic?

Three years ago today our world changed so much here at the Reynolds Nation. On that day we found out officially by the psychologist that Judah was dyslexic. I had been concerned for about 9 months that he was...I had heard on Good Morning one day what are some of the signs of dyslexia. Though I always watched my kids for dyslexia, Judah just didn't have the classic signs... like the turning of the letters B, D and P.  Everyone always looks for that, but Judah didn't do that. But he was behind in his reading. And wasn't progressing in a rate that was okay. So, we had him tested. And it was confirmed.
